With determination, hard work, and a little help from a four-legged friend, Joyce turned her recovery goal into reality.
Joyce didn’t plan on needing skilled care, but a few unexpected falls at home left her knowing she needed extra support.
She arrived at Marquis Shasta and was committed to her recovery. Her therapy sessions challenged her, but she found motivation through one special connection: her PTA, Robert, and his dog, Bodie.
“Bodie always ‘pepped’ me up and made me feel better,” Joyce shared. That motivation combined with her determination made all the difference:
- Improved balance to move around independently
- Maintained motivation and positivity — thanks to Robert and Bodie!
- Gained confidence to return home safely
By the time she was ready to discharge, Joy had achieved something remarkable: a renewed sense of independence and the joy of returning home.
